Who this course is for
Designed for personnel who support fluoroscopic procedures without operating the equipment. It is suitable for clinical and support staff who need to understand safe positioning and communication during procedures.
What you will learn
- Explain why the patient is the main source of scatter and why exposure accumulates during beam-on time.
- Use distance and room positioning to reduce unnecessary exposure when patient care permits.
- Place protective barriers so they intercept scatter paths.
- Review the fit and use of protective apparel, dosimeters, and individual safety concerns.
- Practice coordinating a task with the operator and reporting concerns promptly.
Learning format and completion
Short teaching pages, interactive demonstrations, a room-layout example, and a practical scenario lead into a five-question knowledge check. Complete the required learning activities and meet the assessment’s mastery requirements to record completion.
Successful completion is saved to your individual learner account. You can then download or print your completion certificate. Quiz retries are available, and printing is optional.
This module focuses on non-operator room staff. Physicians and equipment operators can review the separate Fluoroscopy Safety for Operators course.
